To celebrate Tu B'av, Israel's holiday of love, learn how to make yummy treats including ice cream in a bag and edible cookie dough

Recipe for ice cream in a bag:
 
1 cup half-and-half
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
3 cups ice
1/3 cup kosher salt (preferable coarse grain)
Toppings of your choice
Small resealable bag
Bowl
 
Directions:
 
1. In a small resealable plastic bag, combine half-and-half, sugar and vanilla
2. Into a large resealable plastic bag, combine ice and salt
3. Place the small bag inside the bigger bag and shake vigorously for 7 to 10 minutes
4. Remove from the bag and place into a bowl
 
Ingredients for Edible Cookie Dough
 
1/2 cup of butter or butter substitute, softened
1/4-1/2 cup of cane sugar
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp. of vanilla extract
1 cup of baking flour
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips
2 tbs. of chocolate chunks (optional)
2-4 tbs. of milk or milk substitute
Medium bowl
 
Directions:
 
1. In a medium bowl, cream together butter, cane sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract
2. Add sea salt and stir in flour
3. Fold in chocolate chips
4. Best if stored in the fridge in an airtight container
 
Note: Depending on the flour you are using, if slightly dry, add an additional 1-2 tbs. of milk or milk substitute
