Scholarship and Education



Bob Goldman was a devoted member of Etz Chaim and of the Men's Club. He was concerned with the continuity of Jewish values and was dedicated to the youth of our congregation. After his untimely passing, the Men's Club established the Bob Goldman Youth Scholarship Fund to perpetuate his memory and further his goal of helping the youth of our congregation. With this fund, the Men's Club will endeavor to continue Bob’s work by providing the opportunity for our children to visit areas of Jewish interest, which is the ultimate Jewish educational experience. The Men's Club believes that the continuity of our people, our history, our culture, and religion--indeed our very existence as a people--depends upon our commitment to our children.

The intent of the Men's Club is to help endow and seek contributions to the Goldman Youth Scholarship Fund. These funds will be used to provide scholarships to the youth of our congregation to encourage their participation in Israel programs. The scope of the scholarship awards may change from time to time at the discretion of the Men's Club.

Our long-term mission is to endow the scholarship fund so that it is self-perpetuating, thus ensuring the availability of this award for years to come. As the endowment grows, our goal is to increase the endowment level and number of awards granted. It is our hope that our children bring back from their trips an abiding love for Israel, our people and our heritage.
