Our B’Yachad program for 8th and 9th Graders, will bring teens together with Rabbi Adler six times over the coming year. Together, we’ll explore some unusual aspects of Judaism, from folklore to practice. We’ll visit museums, do creative projects, read a graphic novel or two, and so much more. Of course, we’ll have lunch and enjoy plenty of social time, too. We’re looking forward to an exciting year! Lunch will be included. All sessions will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Confirmation Class for 10th Graders will meet roughly about once a month from the middle of October until May, on Sunday evenings from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The curriculum is the book: “Tough Questions Jewish Teens Ask,” and it covers topics related to Judaism as well as other teen related topics. Students are encouraged to ask all the “hard questions” they’ve ever had about being Jewish and then those questions are incorporated into the curriculum, along with the ones covered in the book. This makes the Confirmation class extremely meaningful to the students.

Our students in 11^th and 12^th grades will continue their connections to each other and to our Rabbi for Senior Seminar, which will meet three times a year. We’ll begin with a Shabbat dinner at the home of Rabbi and Amy Dorsch.  A mid-year session will focus on antisemitism on college campuses featuring Rabbi Larry Sernovitz from Hillels of Georgia. We’ll wrap up the year with a civil rights trip to Alabama. This is a perfect way to learn and celebrate the end of their high school years at Etz Chaim.
